  6.                                | environment. Fifth uses incremental
  7.                                | compilation that limits compiles to sections
  8.                                | of code which have been changed, as they are
  9.                                | changed, rather than requiring a
  10.                                | recompilation of the entire program. The
  11.                                | compiles are also extremely fast. Fifth
  12.                                | supports graphics, 32-bit arithmetic, and
  13.                                | the 8087 math coprocessor.

  15.                                | origins can be traced back to F83. FF has
  16.                                | been tailored to use sequential files for
  17.                                | source, and all references to BLOCK have
  18.                                | been removed.
  19. MVPFORTH.ZIP    96103  10-13-93  MVPForth is a FORTH interpreter plus two
  20.                                | other FORTH interpreters on the same disk.
  21. PYGMY.ZIP       83469  10-13-93  Pygmy Forth 1.4 (Sergeant, Frank; $?) is a
  22.                                | Forth programming environment based on
  23.                                | Charles Moore's cmFORTH for the NOVIX Forth
  24.                                | chip. It includes an editor and assembler,
  25.                                | yet only takes about 14k of disk space. It
  26.                                | comes with a manual on disk and complete
  27.                                | source code, including a meta-compiler. Up
  28.                                | to 15 files can be opened simultaneously,
  29.                                | and in-string literals are allowed.
  30. UCCFORTH.ZIP   308402  10-13-93  UCC Forth (United Controls Corporation; $?)
  31.                                | is based on UCC's original 8-bit version of
  32.                                | Forth. It is Direct Threaded; uses
  33.                                | Sequential file structures rather than 1024
  34.                                | byte screens; has substantial built-in
  35.                                | debugging and trace facilities; can shell
  36.                                | through DOS 3.3 to utilize your normal word
  37.                                | processor/editor; and can CLOAD binary COM
  38.                                | files produced by MASM. EGA graphics are
  39.                                | included.
  40. UNIFORT@.EXE    81139  12-30-92  The Uniforth Sampler is a subset of the full
  41.                                | Professional UNIFORTH. It provides a full
  42.                                | assembler, video editor and software
  43.                                | floating-point arithmetic. It supports the
  44.                                | FORTH-83 Standard with few exceptions. You
  45.                                | will find the Sampler to be the equivalent
  46.                                | of several commercial systems selling for
  47.                                | $200 or more, according to the author. The
  48.                                | author is no longer at the address given in
  49.                                | the doc file.
